3 letters of reference:These should be submitted online using the electronic reference (“e-ref”) system in the application. Referees listed on the applicants’ forms will be sent an automatically-generated email invitation to submit their references once the applicant has submitted his/her on-line application, and then will have until Monday, January 16th, 2018 to submit their references online. For degrees from China, official original and English language translations of degree certificates are required in addition to transcripts. Thesis Proposal:
The LLM degree in the Allard School of Law at UBC is a thesis based degree involving original research therefore it is mandatory that a thesis proposal be included in your application form. Thesis (LLM) proposals form an important part of the admissions process and help to guide the assignment of supervisors and supervisory committees. A proposal should outline a research project that could reasonably lead to a thesis that makes an original scholarly contribution in the chosen field of legal study. The LLM thesis proposal should be approximately 5 pages (1,250 words) in length. Clarity of expression is important.
