　　商科，工程，教育，法律，只要你能想到的专业，伯克利即使没有排名前5，也不会排到10名开外！这所UC系统的母校在读本科生在25000人左右，庞大的学生基数使得某些基础课同时上课人数能达到几百人。很多学生都承认在伯克利能够时刻感受到学术压力，尤其对大一新生来说。

　　Berkeley是“有点疯狂的小城镇”

　　伯克利的图书馆藏书量超过800万，是全美馆藏量最大的图书馆之一。这个体系包含主图书馆（Doe-Moffitt）和20多个分馆。这里和咖啡屋是伯克利学子周末的主要休闲方式之一。另外，学校设有多达350个不同类型的学生组织供你选择，如果这还满足不了你的胃口，乘地铁到旧金山去体验一下经典的加州风情也是一个好选择。

　　伯克利的招生过程更看重申请者的整体水平，招生部门认为一个人的成就可以通过任何方式得以体现，因此单论标准考试分数的高低不会决定你是否能被伯克利录取。UCB也提供各种奖学金，每年有200名幸运儿能够通过Regents’ and Chancellor’s Scholarship获得本科四年部分乃至全部资金支持。

　　多样性和灵活性是加州餐饮膳食计划的两个不可分割的组成部分。无论你想要享用早餐、午餐、晚餐或是夜宵，想吃素食或快餐食品，这里都为每个人提供着多种多样的选择。因为你可以在四个食堂，两个住宅的零售地点，和四个校园餐厅之间进行挑选。你想要的，应有尽有！

　　校园内有4个体育场馆，4个游泳设施，两个重量室，众多玩法庭（壁球，手球，壁球，网球），武术客房，和两个400米长的轨道。加州大学伯克利分校拥有众多艺术方面的设施，如：太平洋电影资料馆、伯克利美术馆、ASUC艺术工作室、希腊剧院。学生有很多音乐表现的机会：丰富的演出机会，包括参与大学乐团，大学，室内乐和福音合唱团，印尼甘美朗爵士乐即兴音乐，巴洛克式的风和非洲合唱团。其他机会包括执行在本科作曲家俱乐部音乐会，演出的机会与管弦乐队协奏曲或中午赫兹馆演唱会试镜。试演，如果需要的话，往往需要在每学期的第一周。

　　加州大学伯克利分校位于美国旧金山东湾伯克利市的山丘上，紧邻旧金山。旧金山市区面积116平方公里，全市人口约为80万人。

　　文化生活

　　自然景观

　　旧金山看上去像是欧洲的翻版，因为这里有太多的咖啡屋。旧金山人对咖啡的钟爱近乎于疯狂，他们倾向于用咖啡匙来度量生活。旧金山市区与周围城镇均以桥梁相连，色彩缤纷的低层小楼盘山而建，市内有大小岗峦42座，不少街道相当陡斜。最具特色的景点是“九道湾”弯道最陡处达20-45度，汽车开足马力也不一定能爬得上坡去。这些地段的公共汽车只能使一种特制的电缆车。

　　气候

　　旧金山气候冬暖夏凉，阳光充足，被誉为“最受美国人欢迎的城市”。因长期受海风影响，旧金山夏天的日高温通常只有20摄氏度左右；雨季为一月到四月间；冬天虽冷，但鲜有降雪。最高温度为9月的平均22°，最低温度为1月的8°。

　　交通

　　旧金山国际机场位于圣布鲁诺，距离市中心14英里。奥克兰和圣何塞也有国际机场。旧金山机场分为三个相连的区域：南区、国际区和北区。上层离港，下层入港。机场的抵港大厅设有商店、租车、饭店登记和旅游咨询处等全方位的服务。国际机场巴士从机场下层发车，开往市中心旅馆区，到站用蓝色标出。私营的往返公共汽车在上、下层都有发车点，终点不限。从机场到市中心的车程在非交通高峰时间为半小时左右。阿姆特拉克铁路连接着旧金山、洛杉矶、西雅图和芝加哥。米申街425号的越湾总站有火车售票处。旧金山火车站在第四大道和镇角街相邻处，也是加州铁路线到圣约瑟的终点站。“灰狗”长途客运运营旧金山到全美各地的公路路线。“绿龟”客运虽然速度较慢，但比较便宜而且路线也很多。长途客车从米申街的越湾总站发车。旧金山市南的1号公路是从洛杉矶到旧金山风景最美的公路线，走与之平行的101国道能更快一点。市北的101国道从尤里卡穿过金门大桥由南向北。80号州际公路穿过湾桥从萨克拉门托向西南方向延伸。有缆电车是旧金山最有特色的交通工具，是旅游热点之一。有三条路线其中从Powell街到渔人码头线是观光客常常乘用的。缆车行走缓慢，而且要等1-2小时才能上车。票价5美元。公共汽车发行一日，三日，七日票Passport。可在指定日内无限制使用，分别为6美元，10美元，15美元。也可以一次买10个汽车代币8美元，节省2美元。这些票在各缆车站和中国城的商店、书店都有出售。机场/接机信息：从北京、上海都有直飞旧金山的飞机。学生可以联系伯克利的CSSA来接机。如果自己走，可到 Level 3 靠近 Boarding area G 附近搭机场内 BART。BART 是以终点站区分不同路线的，请注意选择” To Richmond” 的列车。如果还不确定问一下周围的人。到离校园最近的 Downtown Berkeley 站下车，目前单程价格$5.90，到 Berkeley 约需 1小时。如果带的行李少，是不错的选择。记得准备足够现金买票。
