You will need to supply the names of your referees, and their email address, in the online application.
Writing Sample:
Your Writing Sample must be uploaded in Carleton Central as a PDF document.
You will want to limit the size of the sample so you can upload it in Carleton Central. If you receive an error during upload, your sample may be too large a file. |

Two confidential Referee Appraisal Forms. These are generated electronically to those listed on your OUAC Application form. Ensure the information is correct and the referees have been informed of their role. Referees should be able to comment on your academic background and aptitude for graduate school. Professional journalists applying for advanced standing may list professional references.
Writing Sample:
One set of Writing Samples — ideally works of journalism. Your samples should display your skills as a writer, researcher or thinker. The samples should consist of newspaper and magazine clippings, and newsletters (all of these are to be uploaded online – maximum of three). Please indicate whether your sample has been published or broadcast and include details of the airdate where appropriate. If you are uploading essays from your undergraduate degree, select those that, in your view, represent your best work. |

(You may wish to reflect on various aspects of your identity such as gender and sexual orientation, economic/class status, life as an Aboriginal person, racial or cultural background, or abilities or disabilities.)2) Identify a social problem that you might want to address as a social worker. Discuss the factors that contribute to or cause this problem. What role would you like to play in resolving this problem?3) What interests you about applying to a structural school of social work? How does studying social work at Carleton fit with your career goals?
Recommendation Letter:
Three (3) are required. One must be an academic reference and one must be a professional reference. Give your referees plenty of time to complete and upload the form by the December 1st deadline.
