This email is typically an overnight process, so can take over 24 hours to be sent after your application is submitted. Please ensure that your referees are academics (professors, lecturers). Upon submission of your application, your referees will be sent an email containing the reference request and the appropriate link to the required documents. Reference requirements are individual to each graduate program and the requirements are specified in the link contained in the email. The email will also contain a link where referees are able to upload the required document(s).
